Actor joins step-dad and pal for the event

Matt Damon completes the run in 59:54

Matt Damon has become the latest celeb to compete in a triathlon.

The actor – who gained weight for his role in The Informant - joined Florida’s Escape To Miami on Sunday.

He follows in the footsteps of Jennifer Lopez and Matthew McConaughey, who recently completed a similar event.

Matt embarked on the six mile run, while his step-dad Jay Jones and a family pal took on the cycling and swimming sections.

‘I knew I was in trouble when the old guy with the oxygen tank passed me,’ he told In Touch.

Despite being the team’s ‘weakest link’, Matt, 37, finished in just under an hour.

He was welcomed across the finish line by his wife Lucianna, 32, and their six-week-old daughter Gia.
