Comedian to go head-to-head with X Factor winner Leon Jackson with song from reality TV spoof
Monday, 13 October 2008
Peter Kay is set to battle Leon Jackson, winner of The X Factor 2007, in the singles chart.
The comedian, 35, starred in last night's reality TV spoof Britain's Got The Pop Factor... And Possibly A New Celebrity Jesus Christ Soapstar Superstar Strictly On Ice as transsexual Geraldine - and 'she' has recorded a new record.
The track, named The Winner's Song, produced in collaboration with Take That star Gary Barlow, is released today - clashing with Leon Jackson's comeback single Don't Call This Love.
Pete Waterman, who appeared on the one-off show, claims 'Geraldine' isn't hoping for a No 1.
‘I think Peter would be pleased just to make the top three,’ he says.
