Actress Charlie Brooks returns to Albert Square

Charlie Brooks has signed a 12-month contract to return to EastEnders

Janine Evans is set to make a spectacular return to Walford this Christmas.

EastEnders' biggest minx – played by Charlie Brooks, 27 – was last seen in April at the funeral of her father Frank Butcher.

‘I'm thrilled to be returning to EastEnders,’ Charlie says. ‘I loved coming back earlier in this year for Frank's funeral. It gave me a taste for playing Janine again.

‘And I'm excited to see what Janine will be getting up to now.’

However, Charlie adds that her role is not permanent.

‘There’s a beginning, middle and end to it,’ she says. ‘I'm looking forward to settling for a year.’
