Make It Right Foundation will finance 150 homes
Wednesday, 8 October 2008
Brad Pitt's charity has raised enough cash to erect a further six houses in New Orleans.
His Make It Right Foundation has already started to build 84 properties in the US city, which was devastated by Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
And he hopes to bring the total to 150 over the next few years.
Last year, the actor used £2.5million of his own money to start the project.
‘I'm hoping we can ... expand all over New Orleans,’ he said during the launch in December.
Meanwhile, Brad, 44, is backing Barack Obama to win the US president election over Republican John McCain in November.
‘The Obama plan can get around this terrible time,' he tells the Daily Star.
'And I’m going to make sure he gets in and fixes the economic crisis.’

How about Mr. Pitt spreading some of that charity to the Houston/Galveston area that was hit just as hard by Hurrican Ike as New Orleans was by Katrina? Or is he so filthy rich from his non-acting talent that he can pick and choose who he wants to help? The people ravaged by Ike are just as important as the people who were ravaged by Katrina. I guess Bradley considers it more important to donate some of his millions to the gay marriage issue rather than to families and children who literally lost everything to Ike and only have the clothes on their back. As an end note, I haven't seen any concerts or telethons created for the Ike homeless as I did with Katrina. After Katrina hit, that's all anyone heard about; all the concerts and things going on for the Katrina survivors. I think some people pick and choose their priorities, including Mr. Pitt.
