Austin Powers actor could go into the house

Actor Verne Troyer is under 3ft

Verne Troyer is being lined up to star in the new series of Celebrity Big Brother.

The 2ft 8ins actor, 39, famous for his role as Mini-Me in the Austin Powers films, has been approached by producers.

Whitney Houston, Cliff Richard and Mutya Buena are also rumoured to be on the shortlist.

Verne, who was recently involved in a sex-tape scandal with ex-girlfriend Ranae Shrider, 22, has spoken in the past about his desire to be taken seriously.

‘A lot of people look at somebody of my stature as being a leprechaun,’ he explained. ‘I’d rather they look beyond that. I can do many things.’

Celebrity Big Brother returns to Channel 4 in January.
