Singer said to be suffering from vertigo
Tuesday, 7 October 2008
Meat Loaf was admitted to hospital last night for tests after having a suspected vertigo attack.
The singer was taken ill while attending the Q Awards at London's Grosvenor House Hotel.
Meat Loaf, 61, is said to have lost his footing as he took to the stage to collect his Classic Song Award for Bat Out Of Hell and almost fell into the crowd.
'It was obvious he wasn't well,' an onlooker tells the Daily Star. 'He staggered on stage for his award and banged his head on the mic.'
The rock legend has suffered from heart problems in the past - in 2003 he needed surgery after collapsing on stage at Wembley.
But his agent insists he's on the mend.
'All the signs are that he will be okay,' he says.
