All 12 acts record track in aid of Help For Heroes
Monday, 6 October 2008
The final 12 contestants on The X Factor are set to record a charity single.
The singers, who were revealed on Sunday, will release a cover of Mariah Carey’s hit Hero to raise money for Army charity Help For Heroes.
‘It’s a genius idea,’ a show insider tells the Daily Star. ‘In the past no one has been allowed to release a song before the winner.
‘But Simon has relaxed the rules and is releasing a single featuring all the finalists. Not everyone who makes the live shows ends up with a record deal, so this is a real gift for them.’
Mariah Carey is set to make a special appearance in the live shows – which begin on ITV next week.
