Cliff Richard to appear in Celebrity Big Brother?

Singer approached to go into the house next year

Cliff Richard has sold more singles in the UK than any other act

Cliff Richard has been lined up to appear in the next series of Celebrity Big Brother.

The singer, 67, was approached in the hope that he’d reveal details of his notoriously secret personal life.

Cliff, who’s music career has spanned 5 decades, has had relationships with Sue Barker, 52, and Olivia Newton John, 60, but currently lives with John McElynn, 53, a former Catholic priest he calls his 'companion'.

Also rumoured to be appearing are Whitney Houston, 45, ex-Sugababes star Mutya Buena, 23, and politician Lembit Opik, 43.

Celebrity Big Brother returns to Channel 4 in January.
