Rick Astley is a surprise nominee at this year’s MTV Europe Music Awards.
The 80s singer will battle it out in the Best Act Ever category – 21 years since he first found fame.
Rick, 42, who was included after being voted for by fans, is up against the likes of Madonna, 50, rock legends U2 and Britney Spears, 26.
It is the first time the Never Gonna Give You Up star has been nominated at the annual ceremony.
‘The audience has spoken and MTV has been well and truly Rickrolled,’ MTV’s Richard Godfrey tells the Daily Mirror.
Last year, Rick was the centre of an internet craze called Rickrolling, in which fake links across the web led to clips of his old singles.
The MTV Europe Music Awards take place at Liverpool’s Echo Arena on 6 November.
