Chat show host still can't understand what happened during his interview with the Hollywood star

Michael Parkinson has labelled his infamous interview with Meg Ryan as one of the most baffling of his career.
The presenter, 73, opens up about the show in his autobiography Parky.
‘I still can't work out what exactly went wrong,’ he says. ‘She was uncooperative from the start. One reviewer said she "glided from slight frostiness to naked hostility via snooty disdain".
‘There comes a point in an interview where it serves no purpose to continue. The only question left is: "Why did you bother turning up and then not trying?"’
Michael, who has retired from his chat show last year, adds: 'She seemed as if she had been beamed into the show from another universe.’
Meg, 46, later branded the presenter 'rude' and claimed he talked down to her.

more than 80% of people who have seen this interviews online have sided with Ryan. Maybe Parkinson should tone down because he was at his worst too in this interview. The least you can do is show respect for your guests and he did not.
I don't think he understood what she was saying, thus spiraling into a situation where the conversation was going nowhere. He also talked over her a couple of times, yes it was awkward but I don't think it was intially, or all coming from her?
I really wanted to side with Parky before I saw this but now I think its clear that he wasnt really listening to her and seemed to be just waiting for his turn to speak. He seemed abrupt and interrogatory which is not normally like him.
