Girls Aloud bandmates lived in filth together when they moved to London
Tuesday, 30 September 2008
Nicola Roberts and bandmate Cheryl Cole reckon they were complete chavs when they joined Girls Aloud.
The singers lived together when they first moved to London 6 years ago – and Nic, 22, says it wasn't an easy experience.
‘Me and Cheryl were like little chavs,’ she says. 'We were from rough places and we completely connected.
'We shared a flat and it was so cool, but honest to God it was a mess. We didn’t ever cook, just lived on noodles, beans, bacon butties and takeaways.
'There were pizza boxes everywhere. We got to the point where the pizza delivery man was bringing us milk and bread too.’
But Cheryl, 25, reckons it brought them closer.
‘I couldn’t have managed without Nicola, even though we were hopeless for each other,’ she says in Girls Aloud's autobiography Dreams That Glitter: Our Story.
‘We cried together, laughed together and had fun together, surrounded by our filth. I always wanted a little sister and she stepped into the role.’
