Janet Jackson recently parted ways with her record company Island Records
Janet Jackson has been admitted to hospital.
The singer was due to perform in Montreal last night when she fell ill during a sound check.
She was taken to a nearby medical centre and kept in for observation.
Janet, 42, hopes to reschedule the show, which was part of her Rockwitchu North American tour.
Last Friday, she cancelled the Detroit show due to production constraints.
No further information about her condition has been given.
