Duffy is convinced she'll have a nervous breakdown because of the pressures of the music industry.
The singer, who was unknown just a year ago, says she’s struggled to deal with her sudden celebrity status.
‘As a girl I thought I was superhuman... but I'm borderline on a breakdown,’ she says. ‘The scary thing is that this feels just like the beginning.
'It would be easy to become a recluse... I have sold my soul.’
Duffy, 24, who grew up in a small Welsh town, is intimidated by fame.
‘I'm never calm anymore,’ she tells the Western Mail newspaper. ‘There's a lot to it I didn't think of. It's not the physical stuff - it's mental.
'It can be a scary when there are 15 lads on one side of a pub and a gang of girls on the other who all want a photo.’
