Justin Hawkins admits saying a lot of stupid things while high on coke

Justin Hawkins has revealed that his addiction to cocaine while in The Darkness made his a self-obsessed idiot.

The high-pitched singer says drink and drugs were practically unavoidable in the music scene.

‘I couldn’t have a drink without going: “Let’s get some cocaine,”’ he says. ‘And I couldn’t wake up in the morning without going: “Right, let’s have a drink.”

'I was fat and immobile, fat and self-conscious, fat and useless. I was a turd on stage, just a useless turd,' he tells Weekend.

'I did a lot of coke and we all know what happens to people who do a lot of coke. They become arseholes.'

Justin, 33, who is now the frontman of Hot Leg, has been clean for over a year after a stint in the Priory.

Hot Leg’s debut single Trojan Guitar is out on 20 October.
