Rapper held by immigration officials for 12 hours
Friday, 26 September 2008
Busta Rhymes has finally been allowed entry into the UK.
The rapper was detained by immigration officials yesterday afternoon at London City Airport because of ‘unresolved convictions’ in the States.
But High Court Justice Julian Flaux ordered Busta, 36, be released yesterday evening.
He is due to perform at the Orange RockCorps charity gig at the Royal Albert Hall tonight.
His appearance at the event depends on the outcome of a judicial review due to be held on today.
Thousands of fans were given free tickets as a reward for completing community work in their neighbourhoods.
'He has the necessary work permit and has been in the country twice already this year,' says Stephen Greene, co-founder of RockCorps.
'So we're a little puzzled that a question mark is now being placed over his ability to enter the country to perform to volunteers.'
