Griff Rhys Jones reveals he got in touch with his darker side for his documentary on anger.
The comedian had to test treatments as research for the new show.
‘The thing with any of [the treatments] is that you have to believe in them in the first place,’ he says.
‘The only process that appealed to me was the rational one where, as with addiction therapy, you acknowledge that you have a bad habit, then seek to modify it.’
Griff, 54, admits that he writes vicious emails when he’s in a temper – but he doesn't send them.
‘I get some catharsis from the simple act of writing them,’ he tells The Knowledge.
‘Otherwise, my anger consists of me running somewhere quiet and kicking something. I shout and scream at walls, not usually at other people.’
Losing It: Griff Rhys Jones On Anger is on BBC2 on 30 September.
