Singer is fond of his cigarettes
Sunday, 28 September 2008
Will Young has revealed that he'd be happy to campaign against the bar on lighting up in public places.
The singer says he’s sick of not being able to enjoy a cigarette when he's out.
‘If I could pass any law I’d reverse the smoking ban,’ he says. ‘The amount of times I’m outside a building, in a public place, and someone says: “You can’t smoke here.” And I’m like: “I’m on the pavement, just you try and stop me!”
'I’m this far from doing a sit-down protest in Parliament Square.’
And Will, 29, says lighting a fag is the first thing he does when he wakes up.
‘I have a coffee and a cigarette and put on some music,’ he tells Sunday Express magazine.
His new album Let It Go is out on 29 September.

Will Young is bang on. The smoking ban is a result of Labours social experiment with Britain to turn it into the USSR, a new Socialist led Republic interfering in peoples every waking moment led by an extremist minority group/s. Popular opinion and Labours Party manifesto counts for nothing. Polls and pledges can be ripped up at the whim of these Socialist dictators who renaged both on their manifesto and against 70% of the public being apposed to an all-out ban. Now Labour are falling over themselves to tell us how hard they're "listening". Only trouble is, despite groups like Freedom 2 Choose.org telling the Health Dept bans don't work and smoking is rising again, they're (still) playing deaf, dumb and dictator. Will, bless you. Get in contact with F2C or Forest and add your weight (celebrity) to the cause for a return to democracy and the freedom for us all to choose.
The arrogance of these ban lobbyist will probably see some of them getting 86ed from government meetings pretty soon.
Great to hear you say that Will, their are people trying to fight back, please check us out at freedom2choose.info for tolerant non-smokers and smokers alike, fighting for choice and the truth, please join us. Good luck with your new Album Will
Good for you Will, millions will sit down with you in protest against this awful ban.
Kudos. We need more celebrities like this. Our politicians turn a deaf ear to ANYONE who questions these stupid bans.
