Actor Josh Hartnett says there's more to him than meets the eye
Sunday, 5 October 2008
Josh Hartnett has revealed that he's often drawn to characters who are similar to himself.
In his last film August he plays ambitious businessman Tom Sterling.
‘The character was very self-destructive and at the time I was going through a self-destructive phase myself,’ he says.
'But you wouldn’t recognise my private life. I’m an actor don’t forget.’
Josh, 30, who is currently starring in the stage adaptation of Rain Man in London, says part of the reason he chose to work here was to get away from the US.
‘The LA paparazzi follow you everywhere,’ he tells Metro. ‘One reason I wanted to act in London is that Broadway is too close to home in New York. Here there’s some distance.’
Rain Man is showing at London's Apollo Theatre until 20 December.
