Robbie Williams has apparently been snapped going for a stroll in Hollywood wearing a gorilla costume and sunglasses.

Stunned onlookers say the singer, who is based in the States, acted like an ape as he walked hand in hand with a mystery woman.

‘He spent a long time trying on various costumes but he chose the gorilla suit and bought it for $60,’ says the manager of the fancy dress shop.

It is thought to be the first time Robbie, 34, who believes in UFOs, has left his LA mansion in three months.

‘There seems no end to bizarre stories about Robbie just lately,’ a source tells the Daily Star. ‘The alien stuff has been rumbling away for ages.

'But going out in a gorilla costume – maybe he was trying to disguise himself from being abducted?'
