Jade Goody has been told by doctors that her cancer is worse than first thought.
The star, who was diagnosed with cervical cancer last month, will need to undergo chemotherapy for the next year.
She was initially hoping the sessions would only take 6 to 9 weeks.
But the cancer is at Stage Three and has spread beyond the area surrounding her cervix.
Jade, 27, is currently recovering at London’s Royal Marsden Hospital after having a hysterectomy.
‘This is not her worst nightmare — that would be dying and leaving her children,’ a source tells The Sun. ‘But it comes pretty close.
‘She had hoped that she would not lose all her hair. But now she has been told that she will definitely lose it all because the chemo will be much stronger.
‘She’s really, really upset. Jade is really worried that she will feel so ill and weak that she won’t be able to look after the boys or do anything.’
Jade’s sons Bobby, 5, and Freddie, 3, are being cared for by their dad Jeff Brazier, 29.
Patients who have Stage 3 cancer usually have a 50 per cent chance of beating the disease.
