Meg Ryan: Dennis Quaid was unfaithful to me for years

Actress says her marriage was on the rocks long before her fling with Russell Crowe

Meg Ryan says she's chosen to stay out of the spotlight over the past few years

Meg Ryan has opened up about her failed marriage to Dennis Quaid.

The actress split with him in 2000 when she had an affair with her co-star Russell Crowe.

But she says he wasn’t the reason she walked out on him after 14 years together.

‘Dennis was not faithful to me for a very long time, and that was very painful,’ she tells InStyle.

‘I found out more about that after I was divorced. But Russell didn’t break up the marriage. He was definitely there at the end, but it wasn’t his fault.

'I was a mess. I hurt him too at the end. I couldn’t be in another long relationship, it wasn’t the time for that. So I got out.’

Meg, 46, is mum to 16-year-old son Jack with Dennis and adopted daughter Daisy, 3.

Dennis, 54, is now married to Kimberly Buffington.
