Emily Baker will support singer at gig
Tuesday, 23 September 2008
Pete Doherty came face-to-face with his first love over the weekend.
Former classmate Emily Baker, now 29, became close to the singer when they were both 11.
After years of no contact, she met up with Pete, 29, at an audition this month to win a spot to support him at a gig.
Emily, who will perform alongside him at the Opera House in Bournemouth tomorrow, reckons he hasn’t changed.
‘I remember him being an incredible dancer and really good at chess and football,’ she tells The Sun.
‘My mate’s still got one of his QPR football scarves. At school he was a bit cheeky and always took things too far.’
Pete recently opened up about his love for her.
‘I first picked up a guitar living in Bournemouth. I did stuff with Emily Baker — because I fancied her like mad. I was 11,’ he said.
‘Emily played drums and there was a lad called Gommy.’
