Sue Katona receives letter from bankrupt star's creditors listing house as one of her assets
Tuesday, 23 September 2008
Creditors chasing bankrupt reality TV star Kerry Katona could sell her mum’s home to pay off her debts.
The former Atomic Kitten bought a terraced house in Warrington for her mother Sue in 1999.
But the property has now been included on a list of assets that creditors may seize to recoup the £82,000 Kerry, 28, owes the taxman.
‘[Sue] is petrified,’ says a source. ‘She has no money and her home means everything to her. She is praying she doesn’t get turfed out.’
But Kerry’s spokesman insists Sue, 48, has nothing to worry about.
‘The bankruptcy will be sorted very quickly and Sue’s house should be safe,’ Max Clifford tells the Daily Mirror.
Sue, who hasn't spoken to Kerry since falling out 2 years ago, escaped a jail sentence earlier this year after admitting falsely claiming benefits.
