OMG! Phillip Schofield to earn £49,000 an hour for Dancing On Ice

Phillip Schofield began his TV career in the 'Broom Cupboard' at Children's BBC with Gordon the Gopher

Phillip Schofield has renegotiated his ITV contract – and will now be one of TV's highest paid stars.

He has signed a 2-year golden handcuffs deal with ITV, which will see him earning £49,000 an hour for the time he actually appears on screen.

The TV presenter, 46, hosts This Morning and Dancing On Ice as well as other one-off shows.

Insiders say he's thrilled with the deal.

‘Phillip’s hit gold,’ a source tells the News Of The World. 'He’s one of the best-loved and busiest guys in the business, and that’s reflected in what ITV are prepared to pay him.

'Bosses know he’s a housewives’ favourite and would hate to see him defect.’
