Singer apologises to fans for screwing up again
Monday, 22 September 2008
George Michael has vowed to get clean after he was cautioned last Friday for possessing class A and class C drugs.
The singer was arrested in a public toilet, where he was allegedly caught with crack cocaine.
‘A 45-year-old man was arrested on 19 September on suspicion of possession of drugs in the Hampstead Heath area,’ confirms a Metropolitan Police spokesman.
George has issued a statement expressing his regret.
‘I want to apologise to my fans for screwing up again and to promise them I'll sort myself out,’ he says. ‘And to say sorry to everybody else, just for boring them.’
George, 45, has found himself on the wrong side of the law before.
He was arrested in 1998 for lewd conduct in a public toilet in California and in May 2007 he was given a two-year ban after pleading guilty to driving while under the influence of drugs.
