But actor couldn't go through with it
Thursday, 18 September 2008
Alec Baldwin has revealed he thought about taking his own life last year.
The actor was so distraught after his abusive phone messages to daughter Ireland, 11, were leaked to the media, that he contemplated killing himself.
In the voicemails, he called her a 'rude, thoughtless, little pig,' for not answering her mobile.
'I began to think about what little town I could repair to in order to commit suicide,' he writes in his new book.
'What semi-remote Massachusetts state park could I hike deep into and overdose there?'
But Alec, 50, says he couldn't go through with it because he'd miss Ireland too much.
'I love my daughter with all my heart,' he adds.
Ireland is his daughter with ex-wife Kim Basinger, 54.
