Oasis star lost his rag with former England star after he joked about the band's music
Wednesday, 17 September 2008
Liam Gallagher has revealed that he’s been barred from top London hotspot The Groucho Club – for larking about with Paul Gascoigne.
The Oasis frontman says he spotted the former England footballer when he was dining in the restaurant. He was having soup and Gazza quipped: 'Do you want a roll with it?' in reference to the band's hit song.
‘So I squirted him with a fire extinguisher,’ Liam tells NME. ‘I got banned and I won’t be back.’
But the 35-year-old rocker says he’s a lot calmer now and that brother Noel, 41, is the bigger hellraiser these days.
‘I prefer to stay in,’ he says. ‘There are things for me to be doing rather than going to the pub and getting wasted.
‘I think Noel and his missus enjoy the high life, while me and my missus don’t these days. I guess he’s getting old, so he’s got to get it out of his system.'
