What it really took to get the pop princess back on form
Tuesday, 16 September 2008
When Britney Spears took to the stage at the MTV VMAs last week she looked every bit the star of old as she picked up 3 awards.
It was just a year before that she had put on a shambolic performance at the very same event, which had everyone questioning if her career was over.
It was only in January that the distraught, dishevelled 26-year-old was forced into hospital after a custody row over her sons Sean, 3, and Jayden, 2. Since that day her transformation has been months in the planning and far from cheap at £2 million.
Her father Jamie gets £5,000 per month for acting as her conservator and he employs a team of security guards at a cost of £100,000 to watch over her 24 hours a day.
Ex Kevin Federline gets £10,000 per month and she's had to pay his lawyer £125,000 and her own around £200,000. Along with other expenses, the legal costs of Britney’s recuperation have reached £1 million.
But it seems it's all been worthwhile and, after her VMAs triumph, the world is her oyster once again.
