Couple want to help kids in Ethiopia
Monday, 15 September 2008
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have handed over a whopping £1million to fund a children’s home in Ethiopia.
The couple, who recently topped a generosity poll, want to help the clinic look after kids with tuberculosis, HIV and AIDS.
It is the same place their adopted daughter Zahara, 3, was born.
‘It is our hope when Zahara is older she will take responsibility of the clinic and continue its mission,’ Brad said in a statement.
‘The fact that poor people continue to die in our world today of TB, a curable disease, because of lack of access to drugs and care is unacceptable.’
Brad, 45, and Angelina, 33, run another health centre in Cambodia, where their 7-year-old son Maddox was born.
They are also parents to daughter Shiloh, 2, newborn twins Vivienne Marcheline and Knox Leon, and adopted son Pax, 4.
