Shane Richie: I cried when my daughter was born

Actor says he'll be the strictest parent ever

Shane Richie becomes a dad for the fourth time

Shane Richie has admitted he was overcome with emotion when he held his daughter for the first time.

The former EastEnders actor was thrilled when wife Christie gave birth to Lolita Belle on 28 July.

‘Christie held her first and when they handed her to me I started crying,’ he says.

‘Holding your newborn child is a wonderful moment, but there was something extra special because this is my first ever daughter.’

Shane, who has 3 sons, says he’ll be fiercely protective of her when she grows up.

‘She’s my little girl and it’s my job to keep her safe,' he tells Hello! 'I’ve had a lot of cowboys and now I’ve got a princess.

'I pity the poor boys that knock on the door when she’s a teenager, because they won’t get past – I’ll be the strictest dad in the world.’

Shane, 44, has sons Shane and Jake from his marriage to Coleen Nolan, 43, and Mackenzie, 2, with Christie, 29.
