America Ferrera: My 'Betty' braces make me dribble

Actress struggles to control her drooling during filming

America Ferrera says she'd love to play opposite Brad Pitt or George Clooney

Ugly Betty star America Ferrera says her character's make-up has an embarrassing side effect – her braces make her slobber.

The actress has to wear them for up to 17 hours a day while playing Betty Suarez.

‘They pop in and out. I can normally talk in them, but one of the side effects is the drool,’ she says.

‘When we finished our first season they did a gag reel and there was a whole section that was just drool.'

America, 24, also struggled getting used to them again after the writers' strike in the US held up filming for several weeks.

‘I’d got used to not having them in my mouth,’ she tells Celebs On Sunday. ‘So I did slur quite a lot at first.’
