Fall Out Boy star on his dice with death
Wednesday, 10 September 2008
Pete Wentz has admitted that he once risked his life over a foolish dare.
The Fall Out Boy bassist, 29, had been drinking with a friend when they decided to test their luck with a game of Russian roulette.
‘I pulled a trigger on a gun aimed at myself,’ he says. 'My friend and I did one pull each.
'We'd been drinking and had taken [insomnia medication] Ambien. I feel stupid even talking about it.
'It's one of the reasons I've never owned a gun – I'm too impulsive. I'd probably get mad and shoot someone over a part in a song or something.’
Pete, who is expecting a baby boy with wife Ashlee Simpson, 23, says he’s always been obsessed with death and has struggled with depression for most of his life.
'As a kid I always went to therapists,' he tells Playboy. 'I was diagnosed with ADD and manic depression.
'Depression and misery are this great little house to live in by yourself. No one comes and bothers you.'
