Lisa Butcher: Jonathan Rhys Meyers was love of my life

TV presenter says The Tudors actor left her heartbroken after split

Lisa Butcher remains friends with Jonathan Rhys Meyers

What Not To Wear presenter Lisa Butcher has revealed that her relationship with Jonathan Rhys Meyers was intense and passionate – and left her inconsolable when it ended.

The pair dated in 2002 and she says it was 'like a movie'.

‘Jonathan was the love of my life,’ she says. ‘When we split up it was probably the most pain I’ve ever been in. I was in agony.

‘I couldn’t see anyone else for 3 years. But when you have a passionate, intense love you know it can't last.

'I needed someone who'd be around, who'd be stable, and Jonny's not any of those things.'

Lisa, 37, says that despite the heartbreak, she doesn’t regret falling for the 31-year-old Tudors star and they remain friends.

‘I’m glad I went out with Jonny,’ she tells Celebs On Sunday. ‘I had to learn a lesson from it, which is not to be attracted to that kind of person again.’
