Rod Stewart wants to get to know Rhys Ifans better

Penny Lancaster says veteran rocker is a fan of daughter Kimberly Stewart's new man

Rod Stewart is said to have bonded with daughter Kimberly's new fella Rhys Ifans.

According to wife Penny Lancaster, the rocker wants to get to know the actor better so he can see if he's right for his 29-year-old daughter.

Penny, 37, claims Rod, 63, will put him through his paces.

‘Rod really likes Rhys and wants to get to know him and what makes him tick,’ she tells the Daily Star.

‘So he’ll see if he can play football, what he knows about cars – the music is already a thing they share.’

But insiders say Rhys, 40, shouldn’t be expecting an easy ride.

‘Rod thinks that you can tell a lot about a man from his interests, and in the manner he attacks tasks, so he’s determined to check Rhys out in full,’ adds a pal.
