Babyshambles singer says he represents everything his father hates

Pete Doherty has revealed that his dad no longer speaks to him because of his drug problems.
The singer claims his army major father Peter Doherty Sr has disowned him.
‘My dad does not have a son,’ he tells Live. ‘I represent all he fought against in his life. As a military man, drugs are a big no-no.
'He was like: “If you’re going do that, you're on your own.” To him, I’m a lying waster. I’m hoping for a reconciliation. We had one briefly last year.’
Pete, 29, says that after a rocky start he's now bonding with his 5-year-old Astile, with ex Lisa Moorish.
‘It wasn’t right to describe myself as a father,’ he tells Live. ‘I wasn’t there for him.
'But we’ve spent a lot of time together recently and he’s a beautiful little boy.’

i'm glad he said what he said about astile. i hope their relationship continues to grow. And to Pete's father- he's still your son even tho he's made some mistakes. I make the same mistakes and my dad still loves me. Best of luck with the relationship between Pete and his dad.. life's too short.
