Lily Cole has spoken for the first time about the death of her pal Heath Ledger.
The actor was found dead at the age of 28 at his Manhattan apartment after an accidental drugs overdose in January.
He was on a break from filming The Imaginarium Of Doctor Parnassus, which also stars Lily, 20.
She says completing the fantasy epic without him was emotionally tough.
‘When he died it was one of the hardest, most devastating experiences,’ she says. ‘It was for everyone on set.’
But Lily, who starts a history degree at Cambridge University next month, says Heath has inspired her to focus on her movie career.
‘I'd always been interested in acting, and that is taking priority over modelling now,’ she tells the Daily Mirror. ‘It's very exciting, I'm very lucky.
‘Modelling can get a little lonely sometimes, especially when you are travelling on your own.
'That's what I'm looking forward to about going to university to meet lots of new people.’
