Actress Blake Lively plays Serena van der Woodsen in the show Gossip Girl

Blake Lively has organised an extravagant party to celebrate her birthday.

The Gossip Girl actress turned 21 last month and is planning a belated jazz-themed bash in New York.

‘All the guests have to wear 1920s-style clothing,’ an insider tells In Touch.

‘The doormen are checking and will reject those not in theme.’

On her actual birthday, Blake had cake with cast members on the set of the US show.

The party is expected to be held tomorrow.
