Musician struggled to feel connection with son

Gavin Rossdale has admitted that he felt worried when he didn’t bond with son Kingston immediately.
The musician was thrilled when his wife Gwen Stefani gave birth to their first child 2 years ago. But Gavin, 42, says he struggled to feel a connection.
‘I felt guilty the first few weeks – I didn’t feel fireworks,’ he explains.
‘But I felt something more subtle, earthy, which grew and grew. For 9 months he didn’t really notice his dad, especially with Gwen breast-feeding all the time.’
But he says that changed when the tot started to develop his own little personality.
‘Suddenly at 9 months he couldn’t be calmed down unless I picked him up,’ he tells Hello!
‘He wanted me to do everything. It didn’t last long, because he went back to his mum about 3 weeks later, but it was really funny.’
Gwen, 38, gave birth to their second son Zuma Nesta Rock on 22 August.
Gavin also has daughter Daisy Lowe, 19.
