Celebrity Big Brother will be back next year – and Channel 4 bosses are lining up Whitney Houston as one of the star housemates.

Producers are wooing the troubled singer, 45, in their bid to secure a host of big A-list celebs.

‘We’re aiming high for the new series,’ a source tells the Daily Star. ‘We want top-notch stars no Z-listers. We’ll be back with a bang in 2009.’

Celebrity Big Brother wasn't staged this year after the race row between Shilpa Shetty, 33, and Jade Goody, 27, in 2007 received thousands of complaints.

The trouble kicked off over a chicken supper and a packet of stock cubes.
