Actress asked for part in comic's TV show

Eva Mendes wanted to appear alongside Ricky Gervais in Extras.
But the 34-year-old actress couldn't get a part in the hit TV programme.
‘I love Ricky Gervais, I love British humour, it’s my kind of humour but they won’t have me,’ she tells You magazine.
‘I was like, guys, you don’t understand I am quite a big deal in the States, and I dont go on TV shows, but I really want to go on your show.
Among the actors who have appeared in Extras are Ben Stiller, 42, Daniel Radcliffe, 19 and Kate Winslet, 32.
Eva currently appears in The Women with Meg Ryan, 46.
