Jordan Knight says fans were so desperate to see New Kids On The Block in their heyday that they pretended to be disabled.
The group - including Danny Wood, Donnie Wahlberg, Jonathan Knight, all 39, and Joey McIntyre, 35 - were huge in the late-1980s.
And the singer says he remembers some supporters turning up to gigs in wheelchairs to get close to them.
'We used to have a section for handicapped people near the stage so that they could get a good view of the stage,' Jordan, 38, tells The Metro.
'Girls used to arrive in wheelchairs and then suddenly start jumping up and down screaming when we got on stage.'
