But reality star vows to battle cervical cancer
Tuesday, 2 September 2008
Jade Goody is devastated after her on/off lover Jack Tweed was sentenced to 18-months in jail yesterday.
The toyboy, 21, was found guilty at Chelmsford Crown Court of assaulting Daniel Steele, now 18, with a golf club in 2006.
His lawyers had even handed in a letter written by Jade, 27, pleading for him not to be sent down because she has cervical cancer.
Yesterday, she was seen sobbing as she went with eldest son Bobby, 5, to comfort Jack’s mum Mary.
‘Jade looked distraught when she knocked on Mary’s door,’ an onlooker tells The Sun. ‘Her face was very red, she had obviously been crying.’
But friends say Jade has vowed to battle her illness, even if she has to do it without her man.
‘Jade hoped the judge would be lenient in the circumstances and was devastated when Jack got 18 months,’ a pal tells the Daily Mirror.
‘Things will be harder for her and the boys without him. But she's being very brave about her illness and is determined to do everything she can to beat it.
‘However, Jack being jailed couldn't have come at a worse time. He's been a huge comfort for her over the past few weeks.’
