Jade Goodys ex given 18 month sentence
Monday, 1 September 2008
Jack Tweed has been jailed for hitting a teen around the head with a golf club.
Jade Goody’s ex was found guilty of assaulting Daniel Steele, now 18, in 2006.
The judge at Chelmsford Crown Court told Jack, 21, he would serve a minimum of 9 months before being released on licence.
Recorder Mark Lucraft QC said the attack left the boy with bruising to his head, face and chest.
‘It was a frightening scene and a traumatic experience,’ he told the court.
‘You went, it seems to me, with one purpose – to attack and to have a fight.
'Hitting someone about the head with a weapon is an extremely dangerous thing to do.’
Jack’s lawyers told the court he was living with Jade, 27, who has just been diagnosed with cervical cancer.

sorry, I may be the only person who thinks this but I don't think he should have gone down. There are people who have done far worse and not been jailed, Surely community service would have been more suitable? Also the fact that he is being a huge support to Jade while she battles cancer, the whole thing just seems to be ridiculous.
