Big Brother 8's Liam McGough heartbroken over mum's death
Big Brother 8 star Liam McGough is said to be devastated after his mum Christine died last week from multiple sclerosis.
The 24-year-old tree surgeon auditioned for last year's show in the hope that, if he won, the prize money could help towards her care.
He finished third - but in a surprise twist he was awarded £100,000 by fellow contestants after just 5 days in the house.
'Liam is devastated,’ a friend tells Daily Star Sunday. 'They were incredibly close. The news has knocked him for 6.’
Earlier this year he ran the London Marathon to raise money for the MS Society.
