Actor said to have turned mansion into Fort Knox
Sunday, 31 August 2008
Tom Cruise is said to fear he could be the target of an attack from terrorists or a crazed fan.
He's reported to have tightened up security at the LA home he shares with wife Katie Holmes, 29, after 2 anthrax threats were sent to United Artists, the film studio he runs.
The entire premises were evacuated on both occasions, although fortunately the warnings turned out to be hoaxes.
But Tom, 45, doesn't want to take any risks with his family.
'Tom fears the threats were directed at him,' a source tells the Mail On Sunday.
'He has tightened security in the office and the Scientology church in Hollywood and installed state-of-the-art cameras at his mansion in Beverly Hills. It's like Fort Knox.'
Tom has adopted children Connor, 13, and Isabella, 15, with ex Nicole Kidman, 41, and Suri, 2, with Katie.

I don't believe a word of it. The normal paranoia of scientologists, institutionalised by Hubbards defective mind, would have ensured that Cruise already had an effective security system for his home.
Tom and the CoS will try to blame this on critics of Scientology. And that's if the threats are not part of some elaborate PR stunt by either the CoS or to 'help' Tom's failing career.
Would these be like the anthrax threats the church of scientology made u*, I mean received earlier this year? Frankly I am suprised anyone cares enough about United Artists and Tom Cruise any more to threaten them; surely no one takes them seriously any more. UA isn't a threat to anyone and Tom, well he's an international joke, unless you're the church of scientology in which case, hmm may have more reason to be rid of him than anyone...
Sounds like somebody is desperate for sympathy & free publicity for his new movie.
What? Anthrax? FBI? Is this threat even real? Of all the publicity stunts Tom Cruise...
