Convicted paedophile Gary Glitter has been forced to leave a cottage where he was staying.

The singer, real name Paul Gadd, was cooped up at a pal’s home in Hill Head, Hants, after being deported from Thailand to the UK.

But he did a runner because locals found out he was there.

Gary, 64, who has tried to disguise himself by wearing a ginger wig and sunglasses, apparently went to Fareham Police Station.

Angry protestors were later snapped picketing the property.

‘Once locals discovered where he was staying, Glitter was knocking on our door for help,’ a police source tells the Daily Star.

‘He ended up staying the night before moving on.’

Gary was released from a Vietnamese jail earlier this month, where he served a three-year sentence for molesting two underage girls.
