Alan Carr to host new chat show

Camp presenter set to take on Jonathan Ross and Piers Morgan

Alan Carr
Alan Carr rose to fame after coming third in the So You Think You're Funny competition at the Edinburgh Festival in 2001

Alan Carr is to go head-to-head against seasoned celebrity interviewers with his new Channel 4 show.

The camp comedian co-presents The Sunday Night Project and TV bosses think he has what it takes to make a success with his own programme.

He's signed a rumoured £3 million deal, which will see him pitted against rival kings of chat Jonathan Ross on BBC1 and Piers Morgan, who has a new ITV show.

‘Jonathan and Piers are from a different generation – Alan is the TV face of the future,’ a source tells the News Of The World.

‘He’ll ask celebrities questions the other 2 will be afraid to. All the signs are he’ll be brilliant.’

Alan, 32, also hosts E4 show Celebrity Ding Dong.
