Couple have called off their engagement

Actress Nicollette Sheridan and Michael Bolton dated for five years in the 90s

Nicollette Sheridan and Michael Bolton have ended their three-year relationship.

The Desperate Housewives actress announced in March 2006 that she planned to marry the singer.

But her rep says they have called off their engagement.

Earlier this year Nicollette, 44, spoke out about their relationship – saying she was completely in love.

‘Michael is a wonderful human being,’ she told You magazine. ‘He has brought me a profound love and support.

'He is an amazing sounding board for me, I am the happiest now I've ever been in my life, feeling more grounded than I ever have.

'For me there's only been one person, and that's Michael.’

Nicollette, who was briefly married to actor Harry Hamlin, previously dated Michael for five years in the 1990s.

They rekindled their relationship after she split from her fiancé Nicklas Soderblom in 2005.

Michael, 55, has three daughters from his 15-year marriage to Maureen McGuire. They divorced in 1990.
