Dolly Parton 'alive and well' despite death rumours

Singer was said to have died on Friday

Country singer Dolly Parton is alive

Dolly Parton is not dead – despite internet reports she'd passed away.

The singer was rumoured to have died of congestive heart failure at a Tennessee hospital on Friday.

But David Dotson, the president of the Dollywood Foundation, insists she’s ‘alive and well’.

‘It came out of the blue on Friday night,’ he tells Fox News. ‘I have no idea who or why it started or spread like it did.

'The most important thing is it’s a rumour.’

Dolly, 62, has been married to Carl Dean for 43 years.
