At the age of 27, Jade Goody is fighting for her life.
Next week the mum-of-two will have a hysterectomy because a large tumour has been found in her womb.
Doctors do not know yet if the cervical cancer cells have already spread and she can only hope that her liver and kidneys are unaffected.
'I’ve got no control over this disease and I’m bloody terrified,' the Big Brother star admits. 'I am going to fight the damn thing every step of the way because I have two beautiful boys who are my world.'
Jade, who was first rushed to hospital three weeks ago, is horrified that people thing that her illness is some kind of publicity stunt.
'I’m sitting here desperately trying to come to terms with the fact that I might die, while people are out there accusing me of making my illness up,' she tells The Sun.
Jade is mum to Bobby, 5, and Freddie, 3. After her hysterectomy, she will also need radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
Her consultant says: 'Jade's condition is so severe that if it had been left undiagnosed for a few more weeks it quite possibly would have become incurable. We hope it is curable. But this is as serious as it gets.'
Jade was advised to have a hysterectomy after she lost a baby last year - but she wouldn't hear of it.
'After I had the miscarriage with Jack, doctors warned me that getting pregnant again could be a health risk,’ she recalls.
‘They have told me twice I should have a hysterectomy, but I wouldn’t let them. I’ve always dreamed of having a little girl.’
